Session Type: Invited Speaker Session
As researchers in a variety of roles, how do we position our scholarship to inform the work of practitioners in classrooms and schools? The journals with the highest impact ratings may not be readily accessible to practitioners, and it is often difficult to disseminate technical reports. This fireside chat will focus on how educational researchers help inform praxis. What formats, venues, and outlets are most likely to reach practitioners? How do researchers communicate work that is accessible, understandable, and applicable to the practitioner? Does a focus on praxis change the questions we investigate, or merely how we communicate our findings? Questions will be taken from the audience to help foster an interactive and dynamic session that will benefit all participants.
