This study examines civic education curricula, specifically addressing a program directed by the Center for Civic Education. The study examines whether We the People increases students’ political knowledge more than the traditional AP curriculum. To answer these questions, I collaborate with two teachers at two different public high schools in Indiana. At each school, these teachers instructed both the AP Government class and the AP We the People class. I administered a survey of political knowledge at the beginning and end of the semester for both classes at both schools. I found We the People increases political knowledge and current events understanding in its students as compared to the traditional AP Government curriculum.
