Measuring Teachers' Knowledge and Use of Data and Assessments: A Colorado Case Study

Sun, April 10, 2:45 to 4:15pm, Convention Center, Floor: Level One, Room 102 B

Abstract

Assessment is more than just a test; it’s a process. Teachers can go through this process multiple times within a class period or over a unit of learning. This study seeks to measure what teachers know about and how teachers use this assessment process, as well as their use of practical applications of data and assessment in their classrooms. This paper reports the preliminary results of the measure of teachers’ Knowledge and Use of Data and Assessment (tKUDA). Findings give evidence of a reliable measure and demonstrates how it can be used to guide professional development based on teachers’ strengths and needs.
