Factors That Influence the Enrollment of Doctoral Students of Color

Abstract

This study will examine the major influences encouraging African American students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUS) to enroll into doctoral programs. There is lack of understanding as to what influences students of color to enroll in doctoral programs. There is a lack of understanding as to what influences students of color who enroll in doctoral programs. With such a lack of representation of Black doctoral students, this research will find out what those factors are, so they might be applied to various communities and college, to assist in the growth of Black doctoral students.
