This research seeks to explore the faculty experience in managing blended learning environments for the purpose of informing how institutional resources and faculty can be utilized to create an effective blended learning experience or environment. This research attempts to fill the gap that exists in blended learning research and contribute to the field by expanding beyond the identification of shifting faculty roles in online environments to understanding how faculty manage those shifting roles. Factors or elements that hinder or support the management of these roles will be explored. A case study at an institution of higher education in New England will be conducted through data collections methods of a qualitative survey, document analysis, in-depth interviews, and observations.
