This presentation draws upon the Jungian theory and Taoism at their intersection and uses a case to understand how the inner landscape of personhood can be transformed in a process of achieving individuation and its implications for pedagogy. In particular, the theory of a Chinese Jungian analyst, Shen Heyong who integrates analytic psychology with Taoism will be used. The purpose of this presentation is to explore the interior landscape of subjectivity—using both Western analytic depth and Eastern wisdom—and how pedagogy can be informed by the insights from a Taoist Jungian perspective.
