Mon, April 11, 7:45 to 9:15am, Convention Center, Floor: Level Two, Exhibit Hall D Section C

Abstract

Lifelong learning includes formal learning, nonformal learning, and informal learning undertaken throughout life and results in an improvement in knowledge, skills and competences. U.S. Department of Education suggests that self-regulated learning (SRL) skills help to prepare learners for lifelong learning. This study found that learners with high SRL skills might necessarily be more likely to use SRL skills, particularly goal setting and task strategies, to support their nonformal and informal learning. It is essential for the agencies, educational institutions and governments to increase the awareness of digital lifelong learners in the importance of nonformal and informal learning.
