Sat, April 9, 8:15 to 9:45am, Convention Center, Floor: Level Two, Exhibit Hall D Section B

Abstract

In the higher education context assessment assumes deeply different connotations and meanings, and sometimes conflict between them. Starting from this composite framework, the present proposal will reflect broadly on the state of the art: to describe recent research trends in European area, a content analysis on self-assessment studies published in 8 higher education research-focused journals over a 10-year period (2004-2014) will be performed (Scopus database and Scimago journal rank by year will be used). The purpose of this study is to investigate what is known about the methodological practice in self-assessment research in higher education to provide empirical evidence as to whether some designs are used more often than others.
