Our synoptic rendering on Latin American testimonio traditions seeks to advance testimonio in educational research. Working through a critique of US-based Latin@ and Chican@ scholars’ research, we contextualize our rendering within the broad notion of Hispanophone curriculum. Following this notion, we render Latin American literary criticism on testimonio along with a reading of testimonio’s dimensions. Of particular importance, we discuss testimonio’s sociological, journalistic, fictionalized, and poetic dimensions. Overall, our synoptic rendering seeks to add to and refine understandings of testimonio in educational research.
