This paper explores the intersection between feminism and service-learning by the creation of a women’s studies course for high school girls attending an alternative high school where they could establish cultural competence through engaging in service projects. The course was created for students who had previously felt powerless to combat the sexism they faced in their lives. This paper studies the effectiveness of this proposition. Researchers found that course content correlated with a progression for students along a continuum of identity development regarding sexual harassment awareness and prevention.
