In this paper I examine the way in which rural teachers, enact practices that have the effect of pluralizing social justice in schools. The aim of this paper is to identify discourses and practices that contribute to socially just education. That is, I search for a real hope within the particular context of rural schools. I draw on a larger qualitative study in public rural schools to illustrate the different forms of social justice and how teachers put them in place to provide an inclusive education for all students. I argue that a relational approach to teaching and learning, justice and hope is critical to achieve a socially just education.
