In this paper we use self-study to examine our development as teacher educators by employing Deleuze and Guattari’s (1987) concepts to fracture the singular “self” into multiplicities and illuminate the infinite connections and expansions that contribute to our growth, identities and work. We identify and discuss the "assemblages" we have plugged into at different times and in different spaces. We recognise ‘resilience’ and ‘innovation’ as lines of flight enabling us to escape the norm however fleetingly. By reframing our understanding of being a teacher educators in this way, we believe we can to confront the forms of rationalism that work against our ability to enact a pedagogy of teacher education in a meaningful way
