This study focuses on the barriers and opportunities two Latino (Puerto Rican) administrators have negotiated as they advanced through the educational pipeline and supported others to do the same. The data reveals ways in which both have been able to approach the intersectionality of transcultural spaces that help shape their ways of being, knowing and identity with regards to ethnicity, spirituality, and sexual orientation while holding school and district - level leadership positions. Their life histories elucidate how sociocultural capital and identity can be conducive to the success of Latino men in educational administration. Through their life histories we reveal the role modeling and mentoring they have received and provided across the leadership pipeline.
