This paper represents the work of three literacy professors teaching an online graduate multicultural literature course. The study examined how an online graduate multicultural literature course offered a platform for answering the questions: How did the course design enable students to openly express their evolving understandings of multicultural literature? What evidence emerged to support a developing or evolving teaching stance that embraces the transformative potential of multicultural literature in the classroom. Students engaged in reflection about the identities of the children in their classrooms. Students also interrogated their own identities and classroom practice. This study furthers our understandings of ways to improve the delivery of an online course in multicultural literature and how this platform is a viable mode delivery.
