Abstract

Drawing on Barad’s (2007) concept of “intra-action,” this paper explores an embodied epistemology of learning/knowing that is inseparable from the ontologies of being embedded in an urban school. Focusing on embodied processes of learning through Baradian concepts, this paper cartographically maps the relations within an urban school and environment. I describe embodiment as an onto-epistemological movement that produces knowledge through knowing in being-of-the-world. The subject and/or student, therefore, co-produces the material constraints and conditions of the school, urban environment, and world.
