Tue, April 12, 8:15 to 9:45am, Convention Center, Floor: Level Three, Ballroom B

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to explore in-service teachers’ different achievement emotion profiles and their relationship with cognitive and metacognitive strategies in online teacher professional development (oTPD) courses. Participants were 531 in-service teachers enrolled in an oTPD program. Six achievement emotions, as well as cognitive strategies and metacognitive strategies, were measured by two surveys. By using a person-centered approach, the results revealed four kinds of achievement emotion profiles with enjoyment and pride being the two mostly experienced emotions. Results and implications are discussed.
