This paper examines preservice teachers’ experiences in creating YouTube videos for an educational psychology course. It presents an approach that allows students to demonstrate their understanding of basic learning theories by integrating technology. Specifically, this study focuses on how the integration of multimedia and creation of films affect preservice teachers’ beliefs about educational psychology and their attitudes toward teaching with technology. Empirical data collected from students in this undergraduate course include students’ assignments, transcriptions of online discussion, videos, the instructor’s journal, and culminating surveys for the course. Analysis of the data gathered (2011-2015) revealed two consistent themes: 1) preservice teachers’ attitudes about using technology in classrooms improved; and 2) students improved their understanding of educational psychology as applied to teaching.
