The goal of this study is to uncover the processes, which support the development of teacher activists. Through narrative inquiry we find that transformation into activists relies on a series of phenomena related to confronting personal identity, being affected by guiding forces, and engaging in social involvement. Although each teacher experiences these phenomena uniquely, they provide opportunities for self reflection that may support teacher preparation towards teaching for social justice.
