With professional and business services projected to be a major contributor to U.S. employment growth over the next decade, professional services firms have a stake in aligning their learning and development efforts with business performance goals. Part of a larger research project about measuring the business impact of employee learning in the professional services sector, this paper presents the results of a grounded theory case study of the process of measuring the business impact of employee learning in a healthcare services firm. The study reveals insights about differences in stakeholder experiences of the firm's learning and development opportunities, and draws some conclusions about the multiple measures of business impact and how those measures contribute to decision-making.
