The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of Junior high school students’ academic emotion and learning engagement on academic achievement, and to test the goodness of fit for the model constructed. Participants were 640 junior high school students. The results showed that: (a) There is adequate fit between the observed data and the theoretical models. (b) Positive academic emotions had direct effects on learning engagement and academic achievement. (c) Negative academic emotions had direct effects on learning engagement and academic achievement (d) Learning engagement has direct effects on academic achievement. The implications for intervention and future research were discussed.
