The purpose of this study was to examine teacher growth during year one implementation of the A+ Model of arts integration. The A+ Model provides for arts integration through inter-disciplinary thematic units and daily arts instruction. Twenty-two randomly selected teachers from three school sites were observed over a twelve month period to gather baseline and year one data. Friedman’s test was completed to assess teacher growth during year one and results indicated no significant changes in teacher behaviors. However, teachers also took part in focus group interviews to gather perceptual data. Descriptive statistics and qualitative data were analyzed and indicated a need for more professional development in arts integration, pedagogy, curriculum implementation, and additional resource support.
