This paper presents the results from a collaborative research project that invited six students to participate in a study focused on learning in and outside secondary school. Looking back on the fieldwork, the paper examines pedagogical experiences that fall outside the realm of assessment. It introduces a theoretical framework for imagining an 'eventful space' by drawing on Lefebvre's differential space, de Certeau's spatial practices and Deleuze and Guattari's notion of nomadology. Using a critical mobilities paradigm (Cresswell, 2012), the author then explores the learning mobilities that emerge when researching with young people. Finally, the term nomadic pedagogy is introduced as a way to to conceptualize how learning can interrupt striated curriculum spaces and expand our social imaginary of learning.
