This report describes the work of six organizations that provide career development opportunities to youth, ages 14 to 24, who have significant barriers to education and career success, including youth with disabilities. The organizations profiled include workforce development service providers, post-secondary education institutions, juvenile corrections, and other community-based organizations. The purpose for providing these case studies is to showcase how quality career development strategies can be effectively implemented with youth and emerging adults outside of K-12 education settings. This report extends our previous understanding by examining how career development and individualized planning can be effectively applied by a variety of other entities that serve youth who are disconnected.
