Sorting and Classification: A Teacher's Snapshot of Student Skills

Abstract

The purpose of this inquiry was to identify trends in four and five year olds' abilities to sort by various attributes. A teacher researcher examined student classification skills with the use of two classification kits. Comparisons between abilities related to man-made and natural classification collections were described.
