Student Ratings of Instruction: How Do Course Ratings Differ Among Course Level and Delivery Modalities?

Sun, April 10, 8:15 to 9:45am, Convention Center, Floor: Level Two, Exhibit Hall D Section D

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to examine possible differences in ratings of instruction based on course level (undergraduate and graduate) and modality of course delivery (face-to-face, online, and other distance). Results showed that students overall were less satisfied with online courses. Also, students were more satisfied with graduate level courses than undergraduate level courses. Recommendations for faculty and administrators include increased professional development for faculty and that careful attention should be given to the development of distance courses overall.
