This presentation utilizes a transliteracies framework in order to highlight the ways in which three different classes (a 4th grade, a 7th grade, and a 12th grade) at three very different schools (a magnet elementary school, a private middle school, and an inner city high school) leveraged the digital and the physical in various spaces and places to present narratives and counter-narratives about themselves. By tracing the evolution one fourth grader's independently written piece from multimodal composition to collaboratively embodied tableau during a culminating meet-up field trip, this presentation is an analysis of the process of mingling: the mingling of theories, teachers, schools, platforms, and stories.
