Educators are interested in the effects of social media in higher education. This quantitative study examines the relationship between frequency of social media use and student-athlete engagement. Preliminary findings reveal social media use was negatively predictive of academic engagement and positively predictive of involvement in co-curricular activities. Implications are discussed.
