In Event: Roundtable Session 6
In Roundtable Session: Computerized Testing: Applications and Advances
The current study proposes a novel method to predict multistage testing (MST) performance without conducting simulations. We call this method MST test information, which is used to predict standard errors across ability levels. The standard errors derived analytically were compared to the simulation results to demonstrate the validity of the proposed method. The results indicate that the MST test information well predicted the performance of MST. In addition, the results of the current study highlighted the relationship between the importance of MST construction and MST measurement precision
