Faculty Research Mentoring Needs: How Can We Help?

Abstract

This pilot study is for the initial development of an instrument to identify faculty mentoring needs in the area of faculty research and identify faculty decision-making regarding research collaboration and grant writing endeavors. This study will report results from a fall and spring semester faculty evaluation identifying faculty perceptions regarding research and grant writing collaborations. How do faculty view these collaborations? What trends are we seeing among both tenured and untenured faculty? This is a pilot study to develop a formative faculty research and mentoring needs evaluation in order to better understand the mentoring needs of faculty in the area of research and collaboration.
