Abstract

In this conceptual paper, we examine how the British philosopher Roger Scruton defines conservatism, which, we believe, is not only more robust and philosophically sound than critics contend, but also capable of bolstering a philosophy of environmental education. We also analyze what he considers the crux of conservatism and conservationism: oikophilia.
