Using self-reflexive inquiry into language, culture, and teaching, this case study features inquiry and reflections by Alma, who immigrated from Colombia to the US. The study demonstrates ways Alma leveraged experiences as a bilingual learner and multicultural citizen, coupled with reflection and use of varied resources, to prepare as a kindergarten Spanish/English dual-language immersion teacher. Data were collected across three years from university-based work and Alma’s teaching. Findings illuminate how Alma links and leverages myriad resources across contexts and how evolving language ideologies and interactions with resources led to shifts in her bilingual teaching practices and ideas.
