This qualitative study explores how dual enrollment English courses taught in the high school function as a service delivery model for gifted education by comparing it to Advanced Placement English courses, which have become synonymous with gifted education at the secondary level. Observations of the courses, as well as interviews with teachers and school personnel, were conducted. The paper discusses themes and patterns found in the courses to get a better sense of the strengths and weaknesses of each model, and explore how giftedness interacts with the models.
