Fri, April 8, 4:05 to 5:35pm, Convention Center, Floor: Level One, Room 159 B

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to measure the effectiveness of an intervention package that includes iPad-based Proloquo2Go, questions related visuals, cue cards, a least-to-most prompting hierarchy and interval reinforcement procedures in teaching responding skills to an individual with autism. Specifically, the responding skills investigated consisted of answering three different types of wh- questions. A multiple baseline design across three types of wh- questions was used to examine the effects of an intervention package in teaching wh- question answering skills to an adolescent with ASD. The intervention package consisted of a combination of (1) an iPad-based augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) application, Proloquo2Go; (2) a least-to-most prompting hierarchy; (3) interval reinforcement; (4) cue cards; and (5) question related visuals.
