This research study aims to investigate the effectiveness of the credit recovery program implemented in the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies online Master’s degree program in a public four-year research university located in a Southern metropolitan area. Both quantitative and qualitative data were collected about and from students who have participated in the degree program. Results from the investigation and evaluation of the credit recovery program can be used not only to inform the current program and institution, but add knowledge to the growing body of literature regarding student retention and graduation in online education, credit recovery, and innovation in distance education.
