Evaluation of Nearpod in Springdale Public Schools

• In Event: RCT-YES: A New Tool to Support Lower-Cost Program Evaluation in Schools

Abstract

As part of its Race to the Top–District grant, Springdale (Arkansas) Public Schools is using Nearpod to personalize classroom instruction. Nearpod is an education technology tool that allows teachers to deliver instruction to students by pushing content out to multiple devices (e.g. mobile devices, PC's, Chromebooks or Macs) at once. With technical assistance provided by the District Reform Support Network, Springdale is evaluating the effectiveness of Nearpod in district middle schools using a quick-turnaround experiment. This presentation will use Springdale’s evaluation of Nearpod as a case study to demonstrate the use of RCT-YES in this real-life education evaluation. This presentation will describe Nearpod, how it is used in the district, the experimental design, and the impact results.
