The present study aims to describe the challenges of teachers in high school regarding the formation of the Maya students are immersed in this level. The difficulties and needs of training that teachers have in the classroom by giving their attention to the Mayan students are described. This research through a descriptive qualitative approach, in which a sample of fifty teachers from three public institutions of Higher Secondary Education was used in the eastern state of Yucatan, Mexico was conducted; techniques for data collection used were semi-structured interview and focus group. The main findings are oriented to the difficulties of teachers to identify and achieve inclusion of Maya students early, and adapt their teaching strategies to benefit these students.
