Abstract

This study describes how a public school district can leverage propensity score analysis to guide policy decisions related to the effectiveness of a language immersion (LI) program compared to the regular school curriculum, which is taught through English. Serving as a model for how university-based researchers can work with a school district to examine the impact of an educational intervention, the study describes how districts can conduct advanced analyses, such as propensity score analysis, that correct for selection bias in the evaluation of program effects.
