Examining Production Efficiency in Higher Education: A Stochastic Frontier Latent Class Approach

Sun, April 10, 8:15 to 9:45am, Convention Center, Floor: Level Two, Exhibit Hall D

Abstract

This study demonstrates the use of stochastic frontier analysis, with a latent class approach to estimate production efficiency and identify public comprehensive institutions (PCI) engaging in “best practices” with regard to bachelor’s degree production. This research suggests there are two latent classes of PCIs operating on the production frontier.
