Social Emotional Learning Profiling and Development of Generation Y for College and Career Success

Mon, April 11, 11:45am to 1:15pm, Convention Center, Floor: Level Two, Exhibit Hall D Section D

Abstract

Benefits of SEL development for college/career success are well documented and increasingly recognized amidst global challenges. More implementation strategies, assessments, training programs, and educational curricula are designed for application in schools to promote health, well-being, happiness, and success for students preparing for adulthood and success in life. Recent efforts directly affected the youngest generational demographic cohort entering the workplace, Generation-Y. Public education is needed to effectively guide Gen-Y through their college/career path. SEL knowledge about Gen-Y can inform targeted recruitment efforts in the workplace and reveal implementation strategies for older generations to manage and develop them. This research was based on a sample of 3,810 EQ assessments. Key development insights from Gen-Y profiling and competency modeling will be shared.
