Explicit instruction in reflective thinking in with the purpose of building a culture of students who are able to think flexibly is an important focus in 21st century schools. The focus of this study was to examine aspects of reflective thinking pedagogy in an internationally focused secondary education program. Following a literature synthesis highlighting both theoretical and practical aspects of reflective thinking, researchers developed a survey that was administered to 353 educators in schools across North America. Preliminary survey findings show that educator perceptions of reflective thinking instruction align with previous research on various aspects of reflective thinking. Survey results are part of a larger study focusing on campus-level case studies of student reflective thinking in schools across North America.
