This paper presents a multi-case study focusing on nine administrators who developed and maintained inclusive, collaborative service delivery models for English language learners. It discusses the challenges and successes leaders faced as social justice advocates. It examines how school leaders advocate for culturally and linguistically diverse learners regarding the quality of instruction, the curriculum implemented in programs for ELLs, the building of teacher capacity to work with diverse learners, and personal vision for their academic success. Further, it explores how school principals provide opportunities for faculty and staff to collaborate with one another in order to create communities of practice, to improve professional practice and to build equitable structures in which culturally and linguistically diverse students can thrive.
