Along with his efforts to support his institution externally, Hope also shaped and communicated his ideas about manhood development in terms of institutional support and care. Hope’s correspondence, and speeches are used to illustrate how his guidelines for manhood development also emphasized the importance of supporting the institution for generations to come.
