This study chronicles the experiences of five high school students with autism who type to communicate as they navigate issues of adolescence and identity through ongoing collaborative interactions with one another, their support people and the inquirer. The work documents and explores the students’ stories, in order to understand the ways that they weave together and connect to broader narratives around disability, inclusion, acceptance and community in high school. A narrative inquiry, this work centers student perspectives and engages with a co-constructive, relational approach to research and experience.
