This paper aims to show how Critical Pedagogy can be enriched by taking into account thinkers on education from the “Third World” such as Simón Rodríguez, considered the most important predecessor of Paulo Freire in Latin America. This is possible if critical educators use a framework that overcome not only Western frameworks, but even the coloniality perspective, since there already are some other categories that shows the way in which colonialism is still alive in Latin America.
