This paper explores the Clery Act and its impact upon graduate students. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Clery Act and is a timely introspection into how this Act was introduced and how the crime statistics on college campuses reflect its impact. The FBI Uniform Crime Reporting Statistics were used to show that the city crime data reported a decrease in crime activity over the years 2006-2012 while the college campuses reported an increase in crime data from 2006-2013. These surprising conclusions are explored further demonstrating that the Clery Act has had a weak impact upon college campus violence statistics.
