Free Higher Education in Trinidad and Tobago: The Price Paid

Sun, April 10, 10:35am to 12:05pm, Convention Center, Floor: Level Two, Exhibit Hall D Section C

Abstract

This qualitative study examines the system of free higher education finance as it exists in Trinidad and Tobago. Of significance is the fact that the country being studied is considered a “small state” for whom little has been written on as it pertains to their approach to financing tertiary education and decisions that must be made on the one hand, often with limited finances, while on the other hand they are expected to weigh the impact of globalization and the need to have a competitive workforce.
