Given the growth of Latinos in higher education and it is important to understand their experience in higher education settings. As scholars examine resiliency mechanisms among this population it may be important to consider their use of music and technology. The goal of the current study was to examine the role of digital music players on acculturative stress among Latino college students. 273 Latino college students responded to online survey. Results suggest that an awareness of Latino identity impacts the levels of acculturative stress that students perceived, and digital music players can function as sonic safe space and portable archive of ethnic identity.
