Mapping Research Using Text Analytic Tools

Abstract

This paper reports on findings from a collaborative project between the Office of Education Research (OER) and the Institution’s Library that sought to: (a) collate the content work done by Early Childhood and Special Education academic group (ECSE AG) from the period of 2004-2014 under one central location to provide a single, searchable point of access that will maximise their staffs’ works visibility, usage and impact; and (b) analyse (through the use of text analytics) the corpus of content work, the findings of which would demonstrate the applicability of integrating text analytic tool to identify the boundaries of the knowledge base in the ECSE AG and to yield recommendations for productive lines of future inquiry.
