In the Caribbean countries, only 10-20% of senior secondary students enrolled in STEM subjects. Survey results indicate the main reasons are teaching strategies used and lack of resources. One solution could be problem-based learning (PBL) strategies. This study explores the effects of PBL strategies on the attitudes of students toward integrated STEM knowledge. Action Research will be used with Grade 9 students in 12 schools in four countries. Action plan involves using PBL strategies to complete STEM-related tasks. Rubrics will be used to evaluate the tasks along with STEM attitude scales. Anticipated results indicate that PBL strategies can: (1) enhance students’ STEM attitudes; (2) help students to experience integrated STEM knowledge; (3) help students to gain science and mathematics knowledge.
