Institutions of higher education struggle meeting the growing demand for online courses and programs. Part of this problem is due to the fact that many faculty lack experience teaching online. eCampus Quality Instruction Program (eQIP) is an online faculty development program developed to help train faculty to design and teach fully online courses. The purpose of this study was to analyze faculty experiences, perceptions, and overall success of the professional development seminars that make up the eQIP. Results suggest that overall eQIP is successful in developing both novice online faculty competencies and crafting online courses from scratch. Implications for improving practice are discussed.
